National Flu Vaccination Day - Friday 8 November 2024

The National Influenza Vaccination Day will take place on Friday, 8 November 2024.

During this day, interested persons can also get vaccinated without an appointment at one of the participating doctors' practices or pharmacies, for a recommended flat-rate price of CHF 30 (resp. CHF 50 for vaccination with the high-dose flu vaccine Efluelda®).

The flu vaccination period lasts from mid-October until the start of the flu wave. The flu wave in Switzerland usually starts between December and March. After vaccination, the body's immune system takes around two weeks to build up vaccination protection.

Information on participating medical practices: The address list of participating vaccination practices is available on the KHM website (www.khm-cmpr.ch).

Information on participating pharmacies: The participation of a pharmacy is indicated in each case by the display of the National Influenza Vaccination Day poster. The list of all pharmacies that generally offer vaccinations in Switzerland can be found at www.impfapotheke.ch.

The National Flu Vaccination Day is an initiative of the College of General Practitioners (KHM) and is organised in collaboration with the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Swiss Medical Association (FMH) and the Swiss Pharmacists Association (pharmaSuisse).
